Naos Big Date: Time to take a closer look

At the request of our community, we've added a practical and elegant feature to our popular Naos: a big date display at 6 o'clock.

Two separate date discs – one for the tens (0–3), the other for the units (0–9) – ensure excellent legibility, framed by a generously sized date window.

This so-called big date complication dates back to inventions of the 18th century and found its way into wristwatches in the early 1930s – a piece of watchmaking history we've reinterpreted.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

Fine Mechanics meets clean Design

The big date at 6 o'clock brings technical finesse into perfect harmony with a minimalist dial. Two separate discs for the tens and units allow for optimal legibility – elegantly integrated with refined typography.

The custom typography blends seamlessly into the iconic Naos dial. Inspired by the Naos Pro Alabaster, this model also features Luminova elements on the hands and indices for optimal readability day and night.

Refined Case with Visual Depth

Brushed center case, polished bezel and case back: The interplay of contrasting finishes not only adds depth to the Naos Big Date, but also gives it a slimmer appearance.

Seiko TMI VJ76 with Big Date complication

The Seiko TMI VJ76 quartz calibre works behind the screwed steel back.

The movement offers a battery life of up to 36 months and a rate accuracy of -20/ +20 seconds per month.

With a low construction height of 3.5mm and the Big Date complication, the VJ76 calibre is the ideal engine for our Naos Big Date.

Interchangeable Strap for Any occasion

Bridle leather is considered a high-quality and robust type of leather that is used in particular for the manufacture of equestrian accessories such as bridles, harnesses and saddles, but also for high-quality bags, belts and furniture.

After tanning, the leather is treated with a mixture of waxes and oils, which not only increases its durability but also creates a deep shine. At the same time, this also makes the leather more resistant to moisture.

The Naos Big Date comes with a choice of a classic black leather strap or an elegant metal bracelet. Thanks to the handy quick-release mechanism, you can easily swap out the strap to match your personal style.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

How long does the battery last?

The batteries we use typically last between 2-5 years. We recommend having a jeweler or watchmaker perform a battery replacement.
